this was happening sence i had the banshee.it would act like it had no throttle responce so i changed my jets to 220's then 230's still the same

it would do it for a split second then sputter at times even backfire

i was doing some reading last nite after i made this thread and it sounds like my main jets are just too small.

fmf gnarly pipes with powercore2,cylinders bored .50mm, stock crank stock carbs boysen rad valves.

ive tryed 230 mains with the needles on the middle clip.after i did the clean up port on the intakes the mofo is snappy but like i said at times it wants to die thats even before i did the clean up job.

so it could only be jets too small or losing spark

guess i should mention im 15,000 ft above sea level

Wow, you are on a mountain top! Lol. I am going to guess you mean 1500? Either way, plenty more info would be needed to truely give you a good idea on jetting, but I would be willing to bet somewhere around a 260-270 on the mains and 30 on the pilots will get you closer.

your too small on the mains.....especially if its getting cold out. I have my buddies bike jetted at 290's with fmf fatties and pod filters on it. Also, most aftermarket pipes really like 27.5 pilot jets. if you have a stock air filter i'd say 270-280 range.....HOWEVER.....as the weather gets colder you just rejet with LARGER jets as colder air is more dense (more air molecules per cubic volume than warm air)

i have a k&n with precharger.

i ordered 270's with 30 pilot, hope the pilot isnt too big

last nite i fired it up and i had to keep choking it to keep it running so that points out to the jet problems

if your having to use the choke to keep it running there are 2 different things.....however they both basically equall the same thing. your either really lean on your mains....or your out of gas in the tank......yes choking a empty tank WILL get you a few more seconds of run time. seen it confuse the shit out of owners before....either of these problems are not good for a 2 stroke.

also i wouldn't run it anymore until you put those new jets in.....don't wanna do any premature damage...

shee's got a full tank of gas.yeah it wasnt my intention to run it in winter anyways.just wanted to get it prepped for summer, its a long time from now but who wants to waste riding time.

im convinced it is the jets as well, when i had the top end off the top of the pistons were dry and so was the spark plugs

changed the mains to 270's bike never ran so good.no more back fireing or bogging starts easy.the pilots are on order 7-10 days wait
