A month ago I bout a 97 banshee with prodesign filter, fmf fattys on it. It ran fine for a few days and then would rev up on it's own and not run right. I took it to Racersedge here in Tucson and they said it was a problem with the reeds so the put some stock reeds In it and said it ran. I got it home and put fresh fuel (yamalube 32:1 93 octane) and it would t start. I have spark on both plugs, fuel lines are clear so carbs are getting fuel, I haven't do e a compression check yet any ideas? Also when I pulled the plugs after trying to start it they were wet. Any help would be appreciated

I don't know what to do the shop put reeds in it. I just cleaned the carbs, but new fuel lines with inline filter cleaned the k&n new plugs. 290 main jet, 27.5 pilot, air screws 1.5 turns out

I just put a clear inline filter before the carbs and with the lines off the carbs the fuel flows freely but kinda flows more to the right host than the left. Then when I attach the hoses to the carbs the fuel doest flow any ideas?

Sounds like it has an air pocket. If your gunna do a fuel filter I would recommend finding a way to mount it up and down preferably. Otherwise if it gets an air pocket it wont let the fuel flow. Spark compression timing fuel...

ok i got the fuel to flow properly and it still wont start. it almost seems like it isnt firing but when i pull the plugs and hold them by the head and crank it theres spark on both plugs. Also it keeps flooding and getting fuel into my exhaust pipes.

It can only be one of the things here...

Compression (should be above 100)

Timing (Check your flywheel key)

Spark (put new plugs in and check gap and check for spark)

Fuel (Clean properly mixed fuel, make sure plug is wet, try starting it with the gas cap loose too)

Try a little starting fluid too, pop off the air filter give each carb a squirt and see if itll turn over a little.

if it keeps flooding your bike then there is something wrong with your carbs.....whether it be that hte floats are mis-adjusted or the needles and needle seats need to be replaced.....

have you dumped the fuel out of your exhaust? it wont run right until you get all that out of your expansion chambers.

also you said it would "rev up on it's own" which is an indication of a air leak on your motor... i would suggest doing a leak-down test on your motor so that it doesn't run too lean and melt your pistons.

yes it would rev up and thats why i took it to the shop. They said it was the reeds so they replaced them and said it ran fine. but.... it hasnt started since i got it from the shop. Yes i dumped the fuel out of the exhaust twice and cleaned carbs twice. I am going to rebuild the carbs this week and then go from there. The plugs are new and a compression check is on this weeks list also. ive put fresh fuel, cleaned carbs and air filter, key is on killswitch is on gas is flowing to carbs, plugs have spark.

reeds will not make a bike rev up on its own. a leaky reed GASKET can cause it to rev.....but not the reeds. do me a favor first.......do a compression test and a leak-down test......then if one of them seems like its off pull the exhuast and reeds and look at the pistons......

and don't take your bike to a shop anymore......we have all the info on how to repair your bike on here.......along with the best site sponsors/builders AND im sure there is someone from here within 20 minutes of you who could give a hand and help you figure out your problems....
