Takes forever to bleed new lines. When I put my steel braided lines on my bike, we had to pump the lever like 500+ times.

okay...fill cylinder.......pump pump pump pump, hold lever in and crack the bleeder screw loose on the caliper.....tighten bleeder screw then release the lever. REPEAT.

ive never heard of putting a finger over the bleed screw.......that would not accomplish anything as your trying to use compression to force the bubbles down to be bled.......i guarentee i can over power your finger with the brake lever......and once air gets sucked back in through the air screw, then its start all over time....

XX2 for me. Do you have any uphill runs in the line? This would cause and air bubble that would not let gravity bring fluid to the bottom.

Do it the easy way, put a clear one way hose one the bleeder, you can get this at the auto parts store. Then suck on it while someone repetitively pumps the brake. Stop sucking on the line as soon as you see fluid in it obviously. Cuts the time in half. I believe they make contraptions that do this for you as well, just cheaper this way.
