Rauls17 Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 Hello I took my banshee apart for a complete build and was putting it back together when I put the front brakes lines I put steel braided line and brake fluid wasn't flowing to the bottom took the line out from the cylinder and fluid doesn't come out so they told me to put my finger on the hole and pump it and let go but no luck anybody have any advice thanks in advance am using dot3 fluid Quote

Jereme6655 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 okay...fill cylinder.......pump pump pump pump, hold lever in and crack the bleeder screw loose on the caliper.....tighten bleeder screw then release the lever. REPEAT. ive never heard of putting a finger over the bleed screw.......that would not accomplish anything as your trying to use compression to force the bubbles down to be bled.......i guarentee i can over power your finger with the brake lever......and once air gets sucked back in through the air screw, then its start all over time.... XX2 for me. Do you have any uphill runs in the line? This would cause and air bubble that would not let gravity bring fluid to the bottom. Quote
andrew3160 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Do it the easy way, put a clear one way hose one the bleeder, you can get this at the auto parts store. Then suck on it while someone repetitively pumps the brake. Stop sucking on the line as soon as you see fluid in it obviously. Cuts the time in half. I believe they make contraptions that do this for you as well, just cheaper this way. Quote
