k&nshee Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 so i noticed at low speeds on pavement that my left rear is wobbling but i can only feel it at low speeds so i stopped and looked at it i tightend the nuts up really good and still a little wobble im not sure if it is the axle or what but i think its something i need to look into i also looked at the axle when i had the rear up on blocks and it didnt look been and i had to spin the tire kind of fast to notice the wobble any help on what it might be Quote
12 0 Clock P I M P Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 did you jack up the rear and move the axle why it is in the air? if it wobbles then you need rear bearings....very common item that wears out causing a wobble it may not be the axle, but the bearings inside the axle housing Quote
Jereme6655 Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 jack it up again and grab the axel itself and see if there is play in the axel housing. if there is then you need new carrier barrings. Seen it before......and you don't want to wait on bearings back there....see them go completely while we were way out on trails where you couldnt get the truck....by the time we got back we needed to get the carrier welded up to even come close to holding bearings. yes we should have just gotten a different carrier....but we had no access to parts and limited tools as we were on a 10 day trip up in michigans UP Quote
k&nshee Posted September 30, 2011 Author Report Posted September 30, 2011 oh wow thanks for the info guys ill do that and get back to you someone locally told me it could be the bearings and im started to think that is what it is myself Quote
Larry's Shee Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 Might also be a bent wheel Quote
blast off Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 Might also be a bent wheel x2. I would swap the wheels from left to right, if it moves you have a bent rim, its that easy Quote
