Well, everything that isn't welded to it needs to be off the frame. Steering stem bearings are sometimes overlooked. If you have access to a hand held grinder you can make the exposed welds look a lot better in just a few minutes. Same goes for the stock nerf bar mounts that most people don't use, you can cut them off for a cleaner look. Powdercoaters usually sandblast the frame first but even sandblasting is hindered by the greasy gunk that is on most frames. You can help your powdercoater by scraping all the thick goo off of the frame for them. I've had two frames powdercoated, one black the other white, and would do it again in a heartbeat. They look SOOOO good when they are done and are a lot more durable that anything you can do at home. Quote

barahonapr Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Posted September 27, 2011 Really..I figured that much was just wondering if anything out of the usual needed to come off like some of the others commented but thanks for stating the obvious.. Quote
andrew3160 Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 Steering stem seal and bearing for sure. Now is a good time to make modifications to your frame. Gussets and modify the front if you care to and take the time to clean up the rough welds. Powder will clean up the rest. Quote
barahonapr Posted September 28, 2011 Author Report Posted September 28, 2011 Great!! I can grind off the bottom exhaust mounts now since im putting sheared inflames right..what else can I possibly get rid off that's of no use now.. Quote
andrew3160 Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 I wish I would have got rid of the stock lower brake line mounting tabs. And yes, you can grind off the lower mounting tabs if you aren't running stock pipes any more. Also some choose to modify the stock mounting brackets for the head lights if you plan on running aftermarket lights. Quote
barahonapr Posted September 28, 2011 Author Report Posted September 28, 2011 I think im Gona keep the stock look and call me crazy but I like uncut fenders..just like the stock look besides being dressed up and having my serval in it.. Quote
