my bikes flooding out when i turn the petcock on i dont know why when the petcock is off and its running out of gas it runs like new any ideas?

it sounds as if your carb is having an issue with the floats.

 

I would pull the carbs out and clean the living hell out of them. I would make sure that you clean out EVERY passage way........if that doesn't stop the leak then it would be your needle and needle seat that is leaking in the carbs...

alright i will give it a try i might rebuild the carbs in it

Are the carbs overflows leaking? I had an issue like yours and it ended up being my float height. But I replaced my fuel valve and the fuel valve seat, but it turns out the floats got messed up as the tips of the pins got mushroomed somehow (i had to beat the pins out) <_< so I got replacement floats.

theres no gas coming out the overflow i dont what what is wrong i never touched my carbs when i re did the bike i put them in a plastic ziplock bag when i took them out to put them on i sprayed them good with brakleen and now its doing this i dont know whats going on

Little trick I learned on another forum, take needle seats out, use toothpaste on Q-tip to clean inside of seats, be surprised amount of crap that ends up on tip. Also check that O-ring on outside of it is good (seat to carb body) :cheers:

 

larry......this is to clean the needle seat? you pull it completely out and use toothpaste on the seat itself?

when i got home from school today i was very surprised to see my dad riding it around he said that he took the carbs completely apart and everything was like it should be and just for the hell of it he switched the throttle systems around and it cured the problem i have no idea why that would cause a problem im just happy its fixed ill be riding it tomorrow ill post some pics of it tomorrow morning before i ride it
