Jayce Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Hey everybody this is my first post here, heard its a great site. So I picked up a 2002 Banshee today to fix up. It smokes probably twice as much out of the right cylinder than the left. I haven't tore into into it yet, I was hoping you guys might know what the problem is lol. It looks like the guy was running it rich, as theres spooge build up on the mufflers if that helps. I was told it might be either a reed or the crankcase seal. Oh and it's a 4 mil with a single carb, toomey T-5s and couple other minor things. Thanks everyone Quote
Larry's Shee Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Welcome to BHQ !! Obviously can't be a bad carb on that side So that only leaves the crank seal. Have to split the cases to replace them. Get a manual and get at it. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 It does sound like a crank seal....and larry is right.....to do the job correctly you must split the cases. Get a clymers manual and take your time. Then do a leakdown test before you fire it up... Quote
