woodsracer56 Posted July 27, 2011 Author Report Posted July 27, 2011 you dont just stick to wot off a take off on a banshee or any other bike out there withl decent power. spinning on14-40 gearing off the line is normal you just got to learn how to properly take off with that set up. its not always about taking off right before the rpm cut off and just hold wot the whole time. you got to find that sweet spot and take off once you got the rear hooked good then you give it wot. (all depends on what kind of turf your taking off on) grass is the worst for that I dont know how many times ive beaten people off the line with my kfx 400 when it was stock against 450's cause all they did was hold the rpms way up and punch it off the line... id be a head by 1-2 bike lenghts before they hooked up... banshees are only worse for off the line. If you get a good take off of the line with your shee... in most cases you should pull your buddys al they way through... just need to find your sweet spot. 15-40 is decent gearing depending on your engine... thats what im probably going to run for mine. Just remember its not always about giving it wot off the line. you will be much faster through out the whole stretch if you get a good take off with minimal spinning. most drag races cure that spinning with tires... but for trail riding and so on... just need to know when to give it wot and when to roll on the throttle very good advice. thanks. with all my mods, do you think its a good idea to run 15/40 gearing?
