Larry's Shee Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 You had new top end "put on" By who? Even if it was your best bud, didn't they even start it? Smoke is from bad crank seal. Quote

Larry's Shee Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 well maybe. the right seal is sucking trans fluid. If the left was sucking lots of air it may not pull enough fuel/air to even fire. I would suggest a leak down test. Then again it could be dirty carbs. Did you clean them? How long did you actually have it running? Did you try giving left side a LITTLE shot of starting fluid while it was running? Was this running before the new pistons? Has it been sitting for a long time? More info/history needed. Quote

codynewman13 Posted July 9, 2011 Author Report Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) if my rings arent installed properly could that affect the starting and the not firing on one cylinder? Edited July 9, 2011 by codynewman13 Quote
BrockMoto Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 Yes. And theres a sticky for leak down in repair forum Quote
BrockMoto Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 If the rings aren't seated properly you won't have enough compression causing firing and starting issues... Also hone issues if its bad Quote
mysterion Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 there is a tube that connects the 2 carbs, make sure that is on there. Quote
