i got rid of my 1989 j arm banshee yesterday mine was pretty much stock besides t3 pipes, it looked bad plastics bent faded and burn holes from the pipes and ripped seat cover with broken headlight lens, the motor was perfect though started first kick everytime hot or cold. i also had a broken ballljoint but i ended up trading for a 2001 yz426f it runs good and is stock besides for a bigger back sprocket. man this thing is a monster tons of low end grunt and a very strong mid range hit its just a bitch to start but all together i think i made out fairly well on my end of the deal and i enjoy the bike so im happy for now. i'll upload a pic tomorrow when i can

codynewman13 replied to codynewman13's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories

-
just a little bit ago i was out riding with a big group of friends and i decided to do a little first gear wheelie nothing big or fancy just for shits and giggles but when i land bam my ball joints break and im out of a ride. i have a j arm frame and i heard that you have to replace the whole j arm setup instead of just buying a new set of balljoints, is this true? if it is true anyone who has a set set of cheap stock j arms for sale let me know or if you guys could post some pics so i can see what aftermarket j arms or out there and if you have a set of aftermarket extended ones for sale let me know i need these soon its like im lost without my bike

make an offer, and for carbs just anything bigger or better than stock ones
-
i have a set of stock cylinders measuring at 66.6mm after i honed them to get the scratches out, i would like to maybe trade them for a god used set of v force reeds, some bigger carbs, nice set of plastics, or some nice rear dirt tires if anyone is interested
-
thanks for the input guys i might just have to go do some clean up on this now
-
really? i would like to think a banshee with a brand new tope ned and crank seals that starts first kick everytime is worth more than that
-
i have a 1989 banshee with a new topend and crank seals with about 10 hours on them, toomey t3 pipes, graydon prolite nerf bars, other than that its bone stock. it was bored 30 over on the new top end. the plastics are rough and the seat is ripped. the only stuff it needs is cosmetically other than that its a good running bike. i was wondering if i should be able to trade it for a nice 400ex with a few mods easily or not? i need to get something for the girlfriend to ride since she doesnt do well on 2 strokes.
-
i would also like to know how they do on stock bore and stroke. all my money allows for awhile are pipes filters and a timing key, later down the road i hope to do a 4mil bigger carbs and porting tho
-
i have toomey t3's on my banshee and i was wondering what kind of difference would t5's make? my pipes have a really strong pull up top but i dont have much bottom end and was wondering if i would get alot more from the t5's or if i should just forget toomeys and with rocket r2's that i keep hearing about on here

i was talking about the actual clutch arm that sits on the top of your cases that your clutch lever pulls in, but anyways i figured out the problem i forgot to tighten the bolt that holds that little push pin in the center of your clutch basket but its all fixed now
-
i just rebuilt my banshee and when i took it for a spin when i went to down shift my lever went limp i can pull my lever and it moves the arm but there is no pressure between them what should i do?
-
bump anyone interested?
-
i wish you did too i need someone to buy it
-
i have a 1989 banshee for sale i have just recently rebuilt the top end on it and the the receipts to prove it, however for some reason it is only firing on the right cylinder which is also smoking really bad i dont know what the problem is so its going for sale, it has toomey t3 pipes, graydon proline nerf bars and it comes with an extra set of cylinders and head and a set of red plastics where the back has been zip tied. the wheels are gold someone just painted them black and its chipping now. it will come with a bill of sale. i want to get atleast 1400 out of it i unfortunatly have 1500 in it. either pm me or text me 513 435 0837. i would trade for a nice 400ex also

i dont want it stock though i want to make it how someone back in 89 would have built up there bike
-

codynewman13 replied to codynewman13's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
its fine i know what you mean where i ride ther is a kid with a 125 who thinks its cool to run his bike with just his expansion chamber and no silencer now thats annoying, i do like the loud tone and would like to have that on my banshee i currently have right now, where i ride there are no sound laws so i wont ruin anything for anyone but i also dont want something thats so loud its just annoying im going for the sound my old kx had with an fmf gnarly pipe and an fmf shorty on it i loved that bike -
im in middletown ohio its inbetween cinccinatti and dayton and i need some one to either help me split my cases and do install crank seals or someone to do it for me either comment or message me if your close and could do it with what your price would be, i could really use some help on this i havent really got to ride yet all summer
