screamin_mimi Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Hello all .... need some help please. Have a 98 Banshee -- Duncan High Rev's, K&N air Filter and a Stock motor ... Just had the Head Milled .030 Question 1: Since I removed the Head Gasket --- can it be reused? If so --- does it need sealer? Someone asked me if it was a "crush" gasket --- and I have no clue how to tell. Question 2: I want to replace the Pistons, Rings & Bearings ... Any recommendations? Thanks!!! Quote

Don't reuse the head gasket, and use wiesco pistons. Also do a leakdown test after your finished, if you don't know what that is search it. Quote
Infamous039 Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 I would recommend you take this bike to someone who knows what there doing and you watch before you begin tearing into without any knowledge, it will cost you more money end the end if you don't install something correct the first time. dicedealer702 Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Gaskets and seals are only made to be put in once. I did my first banshee rebuild with out much banshee knowledge . But with the help of a manual and my friends on hq . I feel like a semi pro now. Besides there's only one way to know your banshee in and out. Those high revs Paul tuners are made more for a ported banshee. I think u would be better with a good mid rev pipe. If u like the look of the paul tuner like I do I have a nice set of mid revs if u want a trade up. Let me know . Where are u from ? Quote
Larry's Shee Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 If you have more money then sense, take it to a shop. If you know which end of a wrench to grab do it yourself. Like already posted, get a Clymers manual, and a little help here you'll be set. Read and re-read a section to understand what you need to do before starting. This isn't rocket sceince here. Also start reading threads so you can understand the terminoligy and possible problems. Quote
