help removing chain

Recommended Posts

Why go to all that work with a chainbreaker or grinder or sawzall, just find the master link and pop it apart. If I have to shorten the new chain, I usually use a grinder and a hammer & chisel to get rid of the excess.

Some chains have no master link. I just assumed if it had a link, he would not need to ask how to get it off.

Actually most chains from the factory have no master link. I am sure I will get lots of people saying I am wrong buts that okay lol. Most of the factory ones came without a master link and you had to cut a link out and put a master in it if you wanted to reuse it. And to answer your question a grinder is a much easier way to remove a link than a chain breaker.

could you please find me a chain for any atv that doesn't have a master link. and by chain, i mean the drive chain, no the timing chain.

Tons of factory bikes have no master link. Not just Yama. My old stock shee had no link, my blaster had no link as well.

As far as you needing to see one,

DID X Ring chains have a rivet link for higher HP bikes, it does not use a c clamp. It looks just like a regular link. It takes a special DID tool to get it on and off. If you get a bike with this on it, and do not want to buy the tool, you can just cut it off. Replace it with a normal c clamp style.
