Have you talked to Brandon about tuning those carbs...He should be able to get you pretty close. Looks like he did your porting, and I know he recommend's Mikuni's.

Those are extremely common carburetors.

What jetting are you running and what is the problem with the tune. What is the bike doing. I run the 34mm Mik. and like them.

Gnarley pipes are mostly used for trail ports not drag ports. I would change my exhaust to a mid to topend pipe or drag pipe. You might get better performance out of the motor & make it easier to tune. JMHO.

I had fmf fattys with simular settup and took them off and put on a set of R2 pipes and silencers with toomey 3.0 spark arresters, problem solved with a ton more topend performance.

Those cylinders were ported for Shearer SB pipes. Not sure where or if they'd tune at all with your gnarly's. With the Shearers you should end up with @ 280 mains, 45 pilots, 5FP17 needles in the leanest clip position. Those gnarly's are more suited to stock or very mildly ported cylinders. They pull on a cylinder with that much blowdown timing and much too long for a cylinder with that much exhaust duration.

needle all the way lean?

needs diff needle?

again ditch them and get lectrons...

if the cyls are ported that high as soon as the pipes sign off the cylinders are starting to make power gnarlys are a bottom end pipe.. have NO overrev capacity and die at around 9k if i rember.. its a bad combo and would be a nightmare to jet. and will probably never really run for crap.

below 2500' elevation the Q2 needle jets work just fine with the 5fp17 needles....higher elevations often require changing the needle jet (dump tube) to a 389Q0
