black sunshine Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 Noticed the plate blocks off the water jackets to the top of the case. Is this non-critical? Thanks! Quote
robert.b.west Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 Water does not flow to the top of the case. Look at the bottom of your jugs. No access for water to get there. Quote
black sunshine Posted May 10, 2011 Author Report Posted May 10, 2011 Thanks guys! Must be utilized on the RZ? Another quick one for y'all; As far as the sleeves(dowels?) over the cylinder studs into the case-- how many should there be? There are 3 on the inside studs, seems like an odd number and the cylinder that has only one is able to slide around a bit when slid over the studs. The other "has a home". Quote
Larry's Shee Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 This is all presuming that you are talking base type spacer. My son's 4mil has a head spacer and it has passages for coolant. Check an online parts like Bike Bandit or Babbits for parts diagram for number of location dowels, I don't recall off hand. Quote
robert.b.west Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 It has to be a base spacer that he is talking about. He was talking about coolant going to the case. I don't recall off hand about the doll pins either. I will look when I get home I have my top end off. Quote

The reliefs in the top case in front and behind where the cylinder sits down in the cases are actually heat relief zones. We fill them with epoxy on the twister setups because the case porting on a twister cylinder eats into them. You definitely don't want to cut your spacer plate to match the holes. That I did not know! Thanks for the help guys. Looks like I am missing a dowel, the cylinder with just one twists back and forth. Trying to think of everything I need before ordering parts ONE LAST TIME!!!! Quote
