SonOfSand Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Hey guys, I am looking to save some weight on my axle, is the G force any lighter? If not, what is? I would like to get a couple inches of width if possible thanks. 1 Quote
bigblockbanshee Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) I'm just guessing here but I'd say the G-Force is heavier because there's more material to make it stronger. Just my opinion though. Edited April 27, 2011 by bigblockbanshee Quote
SonOfSand Posted April 27, 2011 Author Report Posted April 27, 2011 I was thinking that because it was made of chromemoly it would be lighter. Quote
06specialedition Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 I've been wondering this too. The stock axle is one heavy bastard. I talked to rockymountain atv about the G Force, they couldn't tell me the exact weight of the axle but they said shipped it weighs 15.99lbs. Quote
shanYE west Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 g-force will be heavier.. there isn't a huge difference in weight savings with moly.. the properties of moly is what makes it more ideal. Also.keep in mind that not only is there more material to make it stronger.. but its also 4" longer. Quote
SonOfSand Posted April 27, 2011 Author Report Posted April 27, 2011 ok, so where is the best place to save weight, that costs the least as well? I am thinking about a swing arm from stellar. Quote

I run a Stellar +4 and it seems to be lighter than stock. And going to the round house carrier is the only way to have it IMO. Quote

Thats what I am thinking, I would like to weigh a stock swinger, so I can have a real idea of weight savings. Quote
Trick2stroke Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 I found a pretty good deal on a RAD titanium axle with all billet hubs. It's lighter than stock but pricey and hard to come across used. The swing arm and tire/rim set up is probably your best bet for weight savings. Quote

Hilarious Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 the gforce weighs more than the stocker. jj&a 40mm play axle is the way to go. i just put one on my banshee and its way lighter than the stocker. its pretty stout too. flipped my shit end over end about (4) times, first time out and its still straight as an arrow.
