Hey guys, I just done a plug chop and i'm still lean as shit with a 165 main and 55 pilot on pwk 28's, no WAY it's right with a n68a needle on the 5th position (richest)

Well I looked back in the slide and I saw this little brass looking piece sticking up out of the carb where the needle goes down into the carb, the other carb it isn't like that. So I tried to press it back down and it wouldn't go, I pulled the main jet out the whole piece there that it screws up into and it went down, as soon as I threaded that back into it the piece came back up again, is that normal or should it be flat?
