so i jsut got my banshee motor rebuilt, and we started it, took it for a spin around the yard, then shut it off, then we started it again for another quick ride around the yard and the was a ticking coming from the stator, it sounds like a short? any ideas?

Did you adjust, or at least check the gap on the pick-up?? I put a new one on a few years ago and had a tick for a while.... turned out the magnet on the flywheel was hitting the pick-up. It still worked fine but it ended up cracking it before I found out what it was.

i beleive we did, im not sure though, i will go back and look, but my friend who rebuilt it thought that it might of had to much back pressure and its making the reeds slap

I know it's been a while but I'd like to know what the solution was, I have the same issue.
