premixonly Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 My carburetor knowledge is weak, i herd about these t.o.r.s removal kit and never really understood what they really do ? or what the benefits of having them are ?. I recently did a top end build and i board it out to 0.040. I had allot of trouble with the carburetors, would the t.o.r.s be the reason why ? 1: what does the kit do ? 2: what are the benefits of having them ? quick question also ... it's a stupid one but bear with me ... by boring it out to 0.040 would i need to increase my jet size and change my reed ? ... i friend of mine told me this would be wise to do thanks again ! Larry's Shee Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 1. Eliminates brain box that often malfunctions for no reason. 2. Eliminates brick on top of carb, cleaning up looks, easier to change jets. 3. Makes setting idle speed easier. 4. Throttle cable hooks directly to carb slide. Increasing bore that slight amount will not affect jetting needs. However if you need to bore only bore enough to clean it up. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 The TORS (throttle over-ride system) is a system that is meant to limit your rpm's if it senses that the thumb throttle is released but the carb slides stay open. There is a way to diagnose it.....that is to unplug the little black box that is located UNDER the fuel tank on the left side of the bike. unplug it and see if it runs any better......if so then you can get the tors eliminator kit which makes working on the banshee MUCH easier because they remove those HUGE brickso on top of hte carbs.
