sstaton1983 Posted March 18, 2011 Author Report Posted March 18, 2011 any more suggestions? i stopped bidding on used 34pjs on ebay after they got up past $160.00. everyone says they are hard to tune anyways. so if theres not a lot of increase going to bigger carbs, ill just run the stockers for a while. gotta_goatsfast Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 You should see what Mr. James Smart has to say. I'm willing to bet he'll tell you something along the lines of "33mm PWKs for all around performance and 35mm pwks if you want to shift the powerband up a little (meaning less down low and more up top). I would keep searching the forums. Lucky for you these carbs come up for sale all the time! Quote
sstaton1983 Posted March 18, 2011 Author Report Posted March 18, 2011 thanks,i have been hovering around the for sale section for the last couple of days. Quote
armyvet Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 i would try for a set of keihin pwk 28mm if you can get them cheap enough.otherwise stock s arent bad when properly set up.You really dont want to overcarb a banshee unless your riding in the top end exclusively, you really dont want to lose what low end you already have.i run a similar set up with stock carbs and pc pipes and its a blast for the trails and hills.almost too much sometimes in the woods but the stockers are that snappy when set up.In ohio im running 350mains currently as well.Have some 36mm pjs i may try eventually but not in a rush because it runs so good now.decent bottom with a hard hitting midrange and top end pull as well. midlifecrisis Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 I was running stockers all last year on my setup, then over the winter went to a set of 34mmPJs. I run triple ported cylinders, and I thought I was really at the capacity of the cylinders truly. I took the bike out just a few days ago, and WOW, these 34mms have completely woken it up. In fact, one of the kids who works for me has a tuned LTR 450. I let him take mine for a little rip down the road in front of my house, and when he came back, he was white as a ghost and told me it the craziest thing he had ever ridden, and admittedly , his bike didnt even come close. The bigger carbs have made the single biggest difference since pipes & porting. Quote
