I just put on my PWK 35 AirStrykers along with a new braided throttle cable from HJR. Currently it has a stock throttle housing with a "thumb saver" lever on it, it looks like a Cascade piece or ModQuad piece. I hooked up the cable to the carbs and went to adjust it up top but I can not figure out how to get the slack out. Even when I turn out the adjustment on the throttle housing it still isn't enough. Is they're any other adjustment I am missing? I feel like a complete retard not figuring this out.......build a complete 4 mil motor but can adjust a throttle cable banghead . Thanks in advance.

I will try it out. Is there supposed to be any springs in the throttle housing because I didn't see any? This problem sucks...I usually can figure stuff out but this one has me puzzled lol. Do I run the carb adjusters down or out to take the slack out?

There are springs from the factory in the thumb lever housing. I took them out of mine as do some others.

To adjust the throttle cable into the carbs, you want to unscrew the adjusters (raising the aduster off of the cap). You want to adjust them so that they are about to start pulling on the slide of the carb without actually moving the slide. I had to order some longer aduster screws (purchased from F.A.S.T. Racing) for my 35pwks.

As stated by Larry, shit happens and you might have recieved the wrong cable, too.

I assume the longer adjusters give you more adjustment than the one that normally come in them? Do these take up a lot of extra slack? I guess I will try again tonight. When I put my cable on I just hooked it in the carbs, hooked it in the throttle housing, and had about 1 inch of extra cable I need to get out. Maybe the carb adjustment will get it out....I hope. I just don't see the top of the carbs pulling out that much slack for some reason.

I believe I have the wrong cable!!! I've built 250 R's ground up, banshee's, warriors, blaster, 400ex's, LTR 450's.....on and on and have NEVER had this trouble. Even if i use no spring in the throttle housing I should be able to adjust out the slack! I mean I have 1.5"-1.75" of aditional cable lol. I guess I will call Kevin at HJR and beg him to send me out another one, I'm sure he will...excellent customer service!!!!! I even took the adjusters out of the carb tops and tried every thing....it just isn't happening.

I measured the cable length and it was 48" end to end. I called kevin and he's gonna send out the correct one to me. I will have to say his customer service is top notch!!! I know I have been a pain to deal with calling him countless times over little stuff, but he is always willing to talk and has a great attitude! I don't care if my new motor locks up after 10 minutes run time lol, I'm sold on HJR and the way he does business! I will update this thread when I get my new cable to let everyone know what the end result is. Thanks for the help.
