Yea I guess that's what they are called is that how or is there an idle screw on each side????

you have to get rid of the tors, get a new throttle cable kit, with actual idle screws, (about $50-60) install the idle screws in your carbs (drill + tap), new throttles cables, then go through the carbs and worry about tuning them correctly

Did you do a leak down?

Have you cleaned and adjusted the carbs?

Make sure there is plenty of fresh fuel? Is it getting to the carbs?

If it is lean, you probably need a bigger main jet in the carbs. Lean has nothing to do with the type of fuel and oil ratio.

What size domes do you have and what is your cranking pressure? You might possibly need higher octane fuel. Deto or pre-ignition will destroy pistons as well.
