So i can't get this thing to run right, it cuts out on the top end i tried switching ignition coils and no change. This is frustrating... jetting is 158 mains,54 pilot, needle on 2nd clip, airscrew 1.5 turns out. plugs are a light brown color and it seems like its gonna run ok until i get the rpms up.

short vid of what i'm talking about

Did it just start doing this? Didn't watch the video, but if this just started out of the blue, I'd suspect the stator.

That problem sounds similar to a few issues

Bad cdi or aftermarket ignition

Plug caps dont ohm out correctly

coil grounds and motor mounts not cleaned to bare metal after powder coat(no ground continuity)

bad coil/stator

nicked harness

not trying to steal your thread or anything, but what do you mean aftermarket ignition? I have a dynatek coil and mine seems to have a sound like a pop or a miss, but clears out in higher gear. new cdi so its not that

I changed the stator and it fixed the problem in the video. I was riding yesterday and everything seemed fine until it started running like crap and would'nt rev up just popping. Not sure whats going on, the coil is grounded but i didn't touch the motor mounts. I put a bigger main in and dropped the needle. i don't have a meter to test with but i rode today a little and it ran fine.
