GrayRacing Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 ok, i bought a fiberglass hood and i was wondering if it was ok to leave the radiator in the place where it comes factory or do i need to build brackets to lower the radiator. i dont want it to over heat from lack of air and burn up. im just very curious and its been aggravating me. n2otoofast4u Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Do you strictly drag race, or is a dune bike that will see more than just 300' passes? If its a dune bike I would either lower it, or open the front up especially if its on gas.. On alky you might get it to work but I doubt it. If you are just drag racing you will be fine.. We dont even run radiators on out drag bikes.. Quote

GrayRacing Posted February 8, 2011 Author Report Posted February 8, 2011 yea, i drag race. mostly 200ft, and sometimes 300ft. its on alky, but that motor does get hot. i was thinking of throwing a dirtbike radiator on it. ill have pics of my bike after i get the motor back from kim. Quote
n2otoofast4u Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 if its getting hot to the point that you cant touch the cylds after one pass then you need to put more fuel in it.. If you are hot lapping it, and its getting hot after a few back to back passes than thats a bit more understandable.. Id bet you will be fine though.. Theres alot of volume in a stock radiator..
