bansheedude55 Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 hey guys.. my banshee wont start. its got fuel,great compression and great spark... i think it might be the air skrew... its got t5s, airbox, and its jetted... how many turns out should i go? i have it set at 2 right now as a guess and still nothin... let me know guys thanks! badassbanshee479 Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 1-2 turns is a good point to set the screw.... not really gonna cause a no start issue unless your pilot jet is way off though.... have you done a compression check? have you pulled the plugs and seen if they where wet? this would tell ya you are getting fuel into the cylinders... and have to visually checked for spark? need a bit more back ground... did the machine run before and now it wont? did you add or remove anything and now it wont start? etc...... bansheedude55 Posted January 16, 2011 Author Report Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) ok...heres the backround... it ran in june not good but it ran. so i ended up rebuildin everythin(pisons,rings,reeds, and rebuilt the carbs,) it sat till bout november from june all apart. so after i rebuilt everything there was no spark.. checked alot so i ended up givin it to my local yamaha stealership. they got it to spark and thats it..it was the ignition switch was shot. yes i visually checked for spark, great compression, and the plugs when i pulled em out they were a lil wet so i tryed a bit of startin fluid down the cylinder.and still nothin... now what? badassbanshee479 Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 if you look at the carbs... the left one has the chock knob on it... look on the other side of the carb by the intake and you will see a port... its on the right side of the left carb and on the left side of the right carb.... you have to have a hose connecting these two ports together or the choke will not work and you will kick your guts out tryin to start it.... badassbanshee479 Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 no drilling involved... this is how the carbs come from the factory..... have you tried holding the throttle open at all while ya kick it over? did you just install the tors removal kit? did you unplug the tors brain? its located under the gas tank next to the coil.... also there is a wire running upto the clutch perch for the parking brake..... disconnect that as well I am pretty sure its the choke tube.... get back to me if that dont work.... I have had new rebuilds that just wouldnt start tried everything... pull started them down the rd and boom fired right up.... Quote
