Is it worth the money? depends on what you do with it I guess. If it were me.. I'd put 39's on there.. but.. i'm a drag racer and want every bit available. Quote
Wicked ATV Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 just got a new 4 mill 72mm super cub built and i am still running 34mm pj's on race gas from my old build..is it worth the money vs. hp gain to step up to the 39mm pwk's? The 39's will work perfect for that size motor. Due to the Bore size the motor can gain about 4-8HP gain with just a larger carb. But you also have to use a larger intake and as well the Reeds can't be restrictive of your carb size. I've taken Cub motors with 85Hp rear wheel on 34's to +90 hp with just larger carbs. But it all play's a roll what type you riding you also plan to do with it. Worth the money....? YES if your looking for peek HP and do it the proper way. Quote
EvilBanshee Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Oh man thats a kick ass motor!!! for sure put on the 38 or 39mm's!!!! Gotta feed her What CC is this engine?? Quote

Thanks man I believe its a 472cc? I just had cameron at redline racing set it up ...and he's a great guy by the way..and I have riden it once and it pulls realy hard but I was talkin to a guy who has a cheetah cub that put 39's on it and he said it made a world of difference but he was also running small bore shearers and I am running big bore cpi's? Also any of u guys have suggestions for a good dune\drag ignition..I have a pvl and would rather go to somethin different ..noticed cascade innovations puts the dyna on all their bikes? Quote
camatv Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 41mm lectrons.. i like a dyna, nology, stock lightened flywheel and STOCK stator. you need to run resistor plugs in it also for the digital ignition. i also had problems sometimes mounting the dyna close to the coil but only on one particular bike? SHEEfan Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 Cameron should have told you which carbs he recommends. BTW is the Bryan? yea he did, he deffinately recomended 39 pwk's but i was kinda on a budget at that time and im using the bike as an all around duner. But i was just asking around and getting some ideas if its gonna make a huge hp difference and it seems like it will. so im gonna get me a pair. this is Bryant Quote

SHEEfan Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 oh hey hows it going, im glad those cylinders worked out for you. i was impressed with that set up when i had it, it deffinately had a lot more mid range power for hill climbs and tree holes than this cub does. actually the guy that first ran those cylinders said they were great on methanol! Ran great till i melted one piston. Thats all taken care of now. Chad was able to save the cylinders. Pistons were another 270. Carbs are dialed in now. A few more trips out and than shee is going to Cam to see what numbers it puts down on the dyno. Well maybe i'll see you out at coos or windy bay. Edited February 18, 2011 by lesnant Quote
