Hello to all i have a 04 that i took in on trade and they didnt know much about it. well i know it was not shifting into 5th or 6th gear so i decided to take it apart to see what was wrong. well i got the shifting fixed and had the jugs takin to 66mm and the head cleaned up and i ordered new pistons. pistons got here and come to find out this has a stroker kit in it and i have the wrong pistons. my ? is to run this stroker kit do i have to port the juggs or how can i tell if the porting was already done.

 

this is what i know about the banshee as of now.

 

28mm carbs 30 idle and 300 mains

k&n pro flow with airbox removed

hot rods +5 long rod +4 stroke

66mm bore

stock head shaved .030

aftermarket carb kit

 

 

please help so i can get this put back together

im to the point i want to put a stock crank back in just so i can put it back together

I'm sure most members be happy to help. You can install motor as is with no extra porting. If it came apart like that then it should go back together the same way. Look at the top of the piston *used* if it's a 66mm Bore it will read 573MO6600 or 795MO6600 then you can identify the proper piston you need to purchase and should back together just like it came apart. Not sure what the 28mm carbs are to have 300 mains but guessing TM's? also the head being shaved is not really something most people do when they do a stroker build unless it has spacer plates. You might want to double check that.

the gasket that came off the head is like two metal gaskets with a spacer in the middle they are riveted together. the orignal pistons were 65.50mm and i had it bored to the 66.00mm cause of scaring and i had a cracked piston

 

so do i need to use a standard base gasket and the spacer gasket on the head or do i need a thicker gasket on the base with the spacer on the head thanks for your time

Oh fun stuff with them spacer plates on the head.... Can you tell me what piston Part number is on the top of the old piston? and on top of the new piston? they should be one or the other.

 

Look at the top of the piston *used* if it's a 65.50mm Bore it will read 573MO6550 or 513MO6550 then you can identify the proper piston this will help me let you know how to set this up. I know you said hot rod crank i just need to know we got the right piston top go back in. Thou I'm going to let you know you'll need some head work to remove all the spacers and gasket and set it up the proper way. If you like i can offer you a complete head machine for your set up. But i need to identify the pistons your using.

u need a spacer plate under the jugs if u have no porting . i have a similar setup as yours . i ditch the head gasket spacer plate for a normal gasket . there for heads with non-stroker domes .
