Hi everyone, im trying to find a write up on whats needed to convert a motor to alky but cant find anything.

I already have the carbs but I need to know what do I need to do to the engine. For example

- I have 170psi right now, what psi should i be running?

- where do i set my squish/clearance?

- what type of timing do alky motors run?

- do i still run b8es? do i gap it to a different number?

Its a 421cc cub used for 1/4 mile asphalt dragging.

Am i missing anything else?

180-185 compression.

br9es plugs gapped at .018

different motor setups like different timing. +6-+12 i run +10

running the 1/4 i would stay safe on the timing due to heat. say around +7

Most important thing is to start way rich and work your way down. The first pass down the track on a new setup I like it to spew alky all the way down the track. You may not want to run a full 1/4th mile like that, as you'll probably run the bowls dry. I assume you have a dual pingel, gutted gas cap, and billet bowls. Suggestions above are a good starting point on timing, etc.
