10mm cub piston to head clearance

I built my 10mm cub and noticed the piston to head clearance is at about 49-50thousandths..... I usually like to run in the low 40's but is this acceptable for a cub? Im using the cut domes from FAST and a 12 base gasket.

Most guys run the cub in that area. .045-.052 ish. You are golden!

i just built a new 10mm cub and set mine at .055... you will be fine..

is .040 to low for a 10mil cub ?

generally yes, but it would depend on a few other things like squish band width, uccr compression,bore size. if its a 68mm bore like said above most ppl are between .047-.055.

it was .040 squish,wide squish band,20cc domes,180psi,+12 timing,and 68mm bore

If this has anything to do with your 10mil Vitos cranks.........I think you may have found one of the contributing factors..............................

well i did not build this engine,im rebuilding it for him. when i got it that was how things were setup.

My 10 mil Cub is 0.052" and 210 psi. I think I'm gonna tighten the squish a tad and lower compression before next year. My 78 mm bore Twister is at 0.048" It goes down to 0.042" if you check both sides of the piston at the same time. Flat top piston, though, if that matters. I've ran a 421 Cub at 0.038" and at 0.050" with the same results at the track.
