jbooker82
if your seperating mulitple cranks one after another there is likely sumthing else wrong, jmo Yea the crank is junk. He bought a vito's crank it seperated, sent it back and they trued and welded. Then he put an adress lable and sent it to fast for a 2nd oppinion before he ran it. Got it back from jeff put it in and had it seperate. 1 crank seperated twice. A weld wont hold it if the crank webs are machined to large or the journal is under sized. That isnt something you can really check with out tearing it clear down.
speedfreek1
Yeah, I was gonna say, isnt the weld supposed to prevent that from happening? I run a stock vitos crank, that I bought after it was rebuilt and welded, and havent had any issues with it, is it just the 4 and 10mils? i have a 4 mill vitos crank that shit seperated to 2 times iam done wit vito and getting ready for a hotrods
J-Madd
I have a 421 Cub (short rod) that I bought used that was ordered from Vito's and built with Vito's parts. NOt ported as far as I know (unless Vito's ported it.) It's running the Tawain made pistons. It runs low 3.9s high 3.8s all day long in 300 ft. On a stock chassis it runs mid 4.0s. No complaints from me.
