WayBackWhen Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 If i get new silencers, am i going to have to rejet? also, what are some good sounding silencers even though i have stock pipes? Quote
banshee67 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 no. it wont do anything but change the sound. maybe add a little bit different back pressure but i doubt it. you would be better off with a set of aftermarket pipes. the whole stock pipe setup is completely restrictive Quote
jbooker82 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Yea you need the set. I dont even know if any aftermarket silencers fit OEM expansion chambers. Get a matching set. That way the silencers and pipes fit right. If you need a spark arrestor where you ride at I would look at FMF pipes with turbine core 2 silencers. Quote
donkeypuncher Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 i agree with booker. but i would recommend pro circuit pipes & silencers. i think a saw a set in the for sale section for like $160ish shipped. Quote
WayBackWhen Posted November 6, 2010 Author Report Posted November 6, 2010 ok, thanks, thats what i thought but figured id get an opinion from someone who actually knows about carbs, unlike my 4 stroke ass, btw i now consider my self a 2-stroke guy another question, rejetting doesnt mean i have to buy new jets does it? i just have to re-adjust? sorry if these sound retarted but this is my first 2-stroke and ive never messed with carbs in my life, hard to believe when i race an '87 Grand National and a '67 Chevelle, but they dont have carbs! ha Quote

So if you dont have any jets I would reccomend buying a few differant sizes. Jets come in all differant sizes.... "rejetting" means changing to another size. Quote
jbooker82 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Sorry I should say that IF you NEED a spark arrest pipe go for the fmf's with turbine core II's. If you don't need a sparkarrestor the pc's toomey's paul turner's, fmf's are all good pipes. FMF just has pretty good spark arrested silencers that do not have screens to plug up. Quote
