VictorK
My cousin just got a new frame but the peg hole is stripped. Can the holes be tapped and re threaded or what?

VictorK
I've heard of this too but I neither of us can do it so we would have to get it done. I think the heli coil would hold up fine anyway weld drill and re-tap
bansheesandrider
I've heard of this too but I neither of us can do it so we would have to get it done. I think the heli coil would hold up fine anyway There is not a lot of material there in the frame to hold the HeliCoil. That is why they strip out in the first place. SNTBANSHEE
Ive always just bored out the hole and went with a bigger bolt when that happens... then if it strips again i fill it in with a weld and re thread... never gone that far but its what i would do +1. Drilled, tapped one size bigger. Held up fine.
Screaming Yellow Zonker
weld drill and re-tap Are you kidding me???? I don't know what type of drill bit you are using but I use carbide drill bits and it is harder that hell to drill into... I just tapped mine out to 7/16 and have not had a problem in this 6 years it has been done.
bansheesrtoys
if you can tap it to a bigger size then you should be able to heli coil it . never had to but it will work , i would personally weld it but not everybody has that option.plus a heli coil would be the same as taping it but you can still use your factory bolt instead of having to get a bolt.
