VooDooBanshee Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Hey guys- With fall in full effect in IL, I have a trip planned up in MI in the next few weeks. I am assumung the weather will be in the 40's. Right now the bike is jetted perfectly for the summer and have several rides on it. Do you think I will need to change any of the jetting on her? Will 60-70 down into the 40's make a big change? T6 pipes +4 timing K&N filter in stock air box K&N lid with outerware stock engine Thanks a bunch! Quote

VooDooBanshee Posted October 13, 2010 Author Report Posted October 13, 2010 I'm running a 280 main right now. It's been up to the 40's here are night and she runs great. Not sure bumping the main up to 290 vs 280 will do much damage... I'm also running Klotz @ 40:1 so I am running richer than 32:1 in theory... Quote

Going lean will do damage in no time. I always jet up before I jet down. Easier to see if the bog gets worse or better. Quote
06specialedition Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 You always should jet up for colder weather IMHO. When it is colder the air is more dense Quote
robert.b.west Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 I think that if you were perfect with a 280 at 70 deg f that you shoud jump to about a 300 for 40 deg f Quote
AKheathen Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 yes, 2 sizes makes 300. when it hits 32 and below, you are going to need another 1-2 sizes right around there, because of the significant humidity change, coupled with the temp drop. there is also a tep range, ususally 30, that you have to watch out for oil separation and major viscosity change. you will need to adjust the air screws around 40, and think about the pilots and needle below freezing...
