Shift lever/arm

Do you want to remove the shift SHAFT or the CLUTCH arm? From the direction this thread is going it sounds like you are talking about the clutch arm. Try levering it out gently, if the pushrod, ball and retainer are removed, it should come right out. The pushrod is about 6 inches long and is inside the shaft after the ball, it is out? If it won't come something is damaged.

If its the clutch arm you need to pull the clutch cover and run the center screw out on the clutch. then it will come right out. The shift shaft requires you to remove the clutch basket.

according to the manual it says the arm firtst. But i do have the pushrod and ball removed now and it still wont slip up.

sorry! disregard last reply. Try to pop it up a little ways and turn it while still pulling
