TORS removal question

I finally broke down and picked up a tors removal kit, and will be installing it in the next week or two. I've never used a tap, however I have seen them used a few times, but I have a few questions. What kind of lube/oil should I use and where can I get it. I've done some research, and gotten answers ranging from wd40 to engine oil to 3 in 1 oil to specialty aluminum cutting oils to beeswax. Also, any tips/tricks for using a tap? I'm fairly mechanically inclined (gotta be to love a banshee) so I don't foresee it being a problem, but I prefer being as prepared as possible before I tackle anything new. Thanks for the advice in advance.

 

Also, any tips/tricks for repacking silencers or just follow the instructions? (first time for that too)...lol
