can i reuse a head gasket its been on for 2 days and only been ran through 2 heat cycles ????or do i have to buy a new one everytime i take the head off? blew a base gasket but have spares. no spare head gasket tho..... thanks

once it's been through a heat cycle, it's done. sorry. buy a new one.

pretty sure you can use copper gasket spray and recoat and use again,just follow directions,because you have to heat up head gasket and wire brush it and use the spray'but need to see what the copper gasket spray says to prep,hope this helps,only for metal head gaskets to.

is there a company out there that makes a QUALITY re-usable head gasket?? like maybe a neoprene one or one that uses a preformed o-ring style gasket?

thanks guys ..... when i take the cylinders off do i have to replace the piston rings also???

no you do not need to replace the piston rings.....im not sure about the base gaskets though....

ive got new base gaskets. so i should be good i might just try reusing the head gasket i havent retourqed yet if it leaks buy one. its such a headache if its not one thing its another

you should do a leakdown test to insure that you don't have any leaks from the gaskets....its almost a sure way to get them all taken care of before you begin doing heat cycles

i will next time thanks for the advice.... what could i clean up the tops of my piston with?????? without f*in anything up???
