Yeah, I had to build it because my guy who does shocks is working in Australia Right now. I needed my rear shock taken apart so I could have the springs powdercoated.

looks pretty strong, but i would have done a couple things. probably made little nodes, or ridge that sit inside the spring on the plate, or something to hook the shaft, to prevent pop-up, even though the angle looks like it helps. and the 2 tabs would be angled back, instead of the straps going strait up.

The "L" bracket that compresses the spring is angled, it sits on a pivot (1/2" grade 8 bolt thats finger tight).

I had a rough time getting my rear apart, it wasn't possible for me to get the spring compressed far enough to get the "c" cup out. Now I can put all the shocks back together with the tool and not scratch the spring either.

loosen the top shock nuts and the spring comes right off..

neato tool tho there are a few small spring compressors available. for low prices...

Those things are terrible. I bought them to throw in my tool box... I threw them directly into the trash instead... you go to tighten them up, and they just slip to one side or the other. Absolute garbage. Sorry... lol...
