yooperbanshee Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 So, I'm picking up an extra motor this week for my shee. The motor is complete and just needs a crank and flywheel. The cylinders are ported with a stage 1 port. Right now on my banshee I've got a motor done by Jeff at Fast Racing. The cylinders are play/dune ported with a +4 long rod crank. I'm wondering what to expect out of the stage 1 port. What's the difference between stage 1, 2, 3, and 4? Quote
sleeper06 Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Its not going to be anything like your fast motor, stage on is a clean-up port Quote
yooperbanshee Posted August 29, 2010 Author Report Posted August 29, 2010 So, the cylinders are really just cleaned up then and that's it? Quote
NYUK Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 that stage bullshit is trinity lingo. who really knows wtf it means. Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 It means they roughed it up with a sanding pad! Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 Yeah, it means they want you to think is special somehow...but don't expect much cause they don't want you to hold them to any power predictions. Quote
spurdy Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 Yeah, the different stages could be anything, depending on who did them. In any case I wouldn't expect it to run anything like one of Jeff's motors. If it is just a clean up port, then you can still send the jugs out and have just about anything done to them. SP Quote
yooperbanshee Posted August 30, 2010 Author Report Posted August 30, 2010 The motor I'm buying is complete minus the crank. $200 and the cylinders came with it, so I figured what the heck for that price. Thanks for the help with the info. I figured it wouldn't be anything like Jeff's. Anything short of strapping a rocket to my ass and being put in orbit would fall short of the engine he did for me. To say it's Fast isn't doing it justice. Quote
T_Shee Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 thats still a kilelr deal for that price. should be decent trail motor for a backup or maybe on a backup bike Quote
