ACOLDTO1L3TS3AT Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 So, yesterday I bought a banshee, and as I live in the city (new orleans), you cant ride these beasts on the rode, now granted I am use to 4 stroke raptors and stuff, but anyway... im having problems with the transmission/gearbox I think. Well, the first ride, and I mean first ride I get stopped by cops hitting high 4th gear on a roadway, so they flashed their lights, and pulled right in front of me so I could not try to run, (it was literally bumper to bumper)... so I they "transport" me home and as I get home, I notice im having problems getting it past 1st and putting it in neutral, well I left it alone thinking im doing something wrong, well today I pull it out of my garage and started it up with the clutch pulled in on first gear, and also notice, its 1st(downshift from neutral), neutral then 2nd on(upshift), wtf is wrong here? Is it supposed to be 1st, neutral, and 2nd on up or when its started I push it down/downshift and it will go 1-6? Or is it im not understanding how it works as I wont be riding anytime soon? Granted I have to rock it back and forth when its off to get it in neutral. Explain to me how yalls works maybe, if anyone has problems understanding let me know. Thanks. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Welcome to BHQ !! From neautral one down , five up. 1-N-2-3-4-5-6 . First is kinda like half click down from N , second is half click up from N . Hope this helps, and Banshees are kinda hard to get into N while running. Quote
bluebanshee421 Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Umm you're used to raptors? Dude they are the same way sounds like you need to get used to riding a bike. Quote
AKheathen Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 yah, you had it right- 1-n-2-3-4-5-6......1-2 is a full click, and neutral gets pretty hard to find. things that make it worse- loose shifter lever splines. wirn shift shaft bearings. buildup/varnished internals. mis-adjusted clutch, or worn hub/basket. you can do some shift mods, like shift star mod, shift shaft mod, shift drum bearing mod, etc. Quote
