it appears that the ring blew in the right side (if your looking at it from your computer) of the motor, and took out little knicks along the bridge to the right and left of the crank, should i just get a dremel and file this out?

split the cases to clean the bearings in the crank out and run it. You could smooth them up with a dremal or something if you wanted to.
