prssantana
Im rebuilding my 2001. Ive got t5s and k&ns with no airbox. I need to rebuild the top and and Im looking to get more low end. Anyone know of a company that makes pistons that will help? Im looking to go to 65mm and I am getting the adjustable timing plate. This is all I can afford for now. Any suggestions will help. thanks
Larry's Shee
Welcome to BHQ !! Nothing piston wise will help with bottom end. Milled head or cool head will. Go with wiesco pistons. Different reeds may also help bottom. Never going to get much bottom from a Banshee!!
prssantana
Ok thanks. The reason I was thinking the pistons is because Vito's site says the power pistons are design to change the exhaust timing and help low end. But all i can find on there are big bore. I was going to get reeds too the ones i have are shot. just cant decide what way to go. Thinking stock cage and port it and use boysens or maybe the chariot one but money is tight. What does it cost to mod the stock plate? The Vito's adjustable plate is like 30.
Larry's Shee
Not to argue , I just looked at Vito's super stock piston and says +8 h.p. , but nothing about adding to bottom end. They have a notch/cutaway on the exhaust side to "somewhat" mimic ported exhaust timing. Drawback would be that you couldn't use them if you decided to port cyls later. Also ,why are you going to 65mm? Are you already at 64.75mm ? No sense boring more than necessary to achive clean bore.
prssantana
Good to know I thought it was 64 even because everything say 64 is standard. On vitos site there is a link on the bottom left below where you choose what quad youre buying for. It say something like whats the difference between power and super stock. Im about to tear it apart right now so I'll decide on the size once i get it open. For all I know it could be bored out. We'll see. Thanks for the advice I'll see if I can find that thread. My friend got a box full of parts given to him so Im going to try and find some go fast stuff in there too.
