nvr2xtreme Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 On all my drag cars n bikes and last drag raptor 700, i ended up trying alchy. on my raptor , did better with 114 than alchy. drag bike same. drag cars and mud racer same. the only time i got an improvement was when i upped the compression alot. im running a cub setup w/ 39mm carbs and im thinking of going to alchy but is it really that much of a gain if any if i dont want to bump the compression due to my motor only has less than 4 hrs run time. but i love the look of the flat sided alchy carbs. So what are some of your views and results? ive seen alot of guys go to alchy only to see them going back to race fuel not long after. Quote
278 Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 As far as drag bike I believe most guys suggest going to alky. To do it you do have to bump the comp. a little more but that means more power. It is more maintainance for alky as im sure you know, but it seems to me that you dont really like running alky so why switch? Quote

firebanshee Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 I will NEVER switch back to race gas for a drag bike NEVER EVER, NOPE, NOPE, NO WAY, NO HOW. You make more power and your motor runs ALOT cooler. You can run alot more timing(+10) and i like my compression around 185 for alky, it's all about set up to take advantage of the alky.Just purge your bike after a fun day of racing. If i am racing all weekend i don't purge until the end of the weekend when i am done. When you switch to alky you can also go up at least 1 tooth on your front sprocket. RadarRacing Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 If its hard to find stay on gas. Alky collects moisture and shelf life is less. Quote
