VictorK Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 heres the deal, my banshee is running almost 100% where I want it. it idles mint and top end power is great. I currently have 27.5 jets, 22s for tires, and 14/40 gearing. I'm gonna order a 13T front sprocket and am wondering if I should snatch some 30 pilots? I have 60 over wisecos, +4 timing, and gnarlys with a lid that has more holes in it then not Quote
VictorK Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 Forget to say the problem is the power hit is flat on bottom and mid range. My question basically is, to get better bottom/mid power, should I get the 30s to go with 13T sprocket? Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 your jetting has nothing to do with your gearing. you cant make a jetting change to compensate for a change in gearing. with that said, what is your main jet size? what notch is your needle on and how many turns out is your air screw? sleeper06 Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 27.5 pilots for that set up should be fine, with the lid vented you should be at 260 mains, stock needles all the way rich, some people disagree but here in Long island it works,If you take the lid off 280 mains Quote

I was just wondering about trying 30 pilots with the new gearing to fix my extra shitty bottom end. I have my needle in the middle groove, main jets are 310. my top end hits perfect so even if its a little rich, it doesnt matter. The bottom end is ass(idles mint). I ordered my 13T so combined with the 41, i should get some bottom end from my 22'' monster truck tires (I hope) haha Quote
VictorK Posted June 1, 2010 Author Report Posted June 1, 2010 I didn't do a plug chop but my plugs are fouled out. I'm now thinking the reason it doesn't hit good down low is because the 310s end up fouling the plugs. Instead of using the 30s with my new lower gearing, I'm gonna drop the mains a little Quote
