banshee_terror_ Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 idk but my stator just whent.. my problem is it sparks once or twice... then wont spark for like 3 kicks then sparks again. then wont spark for like another 3 kicks and it keeps happining over and over again.. but your problem might be a stator problem.. Smokestack Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 I have the same issue but i tore mine down for a winter project. Just putting it back together again now. Installed a timing plate and when tryin to take the flywheel off i inserted a screw driver into one of the holes in the flywheel So i bent one of the white things on the lower half of the stator.... So needless to say i think that is my issue. Quote

Larry's Shee Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Check your wireing, remove flwheel if you have to. Check for lose plugs, broken wires. Check pick-up coil gap to flywheel. Check switches, check ground for coil and CDI , MUST be clean bare metal. This a no cost diagnosis, except flwheel puller (a must). Check for rust on flywheel and stator poles. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Also check that flywheel is tight and key is good. Quote
banshee96er Posted April 13, 2010 Author Report Posted April 13, 2010 Also check that flywheel is tight and key is good. ok,so i havent tryed bump starting it in a few days ,i tried it today and all the lights came on,does that mean the stator is ok and its a coil Quote
rdzbangshee Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 ok,so i havent tryed bump starting it in a few days ,i tried it today and all the lights came on,does that mean the stator is ok and its a coil the ignition coils on the stator are shorted out . your lighting coils are fine . do a ohm test or get it rewound for cheap . my bro jams screwdrivers in his and bust it all up every time .
