I have always been a four stroke guy so I dont know sit abot a two stroke. Where does the powerband kick in at? After about 1/4 throttle my banshee takes off like a bat out of hell. I'm talking jurk the bars out of my hands hard. The power is almost like the engine has a on off switch. This sound normal or do I need to play with the jetting? Quote

Right now I have 25 pilots and 290 mains (mods in my sig) but the temp out side is still around 40-60 right now. When if warms up I'll change my jetting. Quote

Newer streetbikes with big carbs or throttle bodies, cams etc have the same feel but a banshee is in a league of its own in feel for an atv. Keep it revved and in the powerband for the most fun out of it. Quote

Banshees have always and will always lack bottom end power like 4 strokes. You can gear them and mod them as much as possible. But when you feel that smack of power thats where those motors like to be. They crave the high rpms. Keep riding her and get used to your shee. After a while you will be able to judge when your power is going to kick in by listening to her rev up. I've always been able to brace my self for the powerband by the rev of the motor. Welcome to your new money pit (not breaking down or bad money pit) but upgrades and shit the sky is the limit on mods. Quote
00sheerzr Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 hell ya thats a twin cylinder 2 stroke for ya i just took mine out today for rip down the street and then i let my dad rip it down the street too, my dad is no newb to 2 strokes and when he got back his eyes were tearing and the first outa his mouth was HOLY SHIT THIS THING WOULD BLOW AWAY MY HARLEY but youll get used to it Quote
James-26 Posted March 27, 2010 Author Report Posted March 27, 2010 Yea so far it's been a blast to ride. I would have never thought the powerband would be so violent when it hit. It's unreal to say the least. I plan on putting a Toomey T5 exhaust on it along with shock shaved head, 4* advance and some ITP GNCC tires. Just bought a kick start rebuild kit, chain and F/R sprockets, and new plubs. Anyone running synthetic golden spectro two stroke oil in there gas mixture? I was told by the dealer that this is some of the best stuff out there. What ratio should I mix my fuel? Quote

GNR101 Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 ive run 40-1 oil mix for years with no issues the banshee powerband hits HARD because its got no pwervalves to close the ports giving u lowend. it just makes the banshee FUN to ride if your happy with the topend now just bump the compression (coolhead and domes) and ajust the timing (chariot timing plate) set it to +4 and ur banshee will have a good boost of lowend power and the band will kick in a little let hard and but make it RIP right off from idle good luck with your shee.. just remember to ASK any1 on here when u mod you shee about tunning UNTUNNED shees give them a bad name (blow ups) tunned shees just RIP !!
