SO, I took the end caps off of my silencers for the first time since I owned them. The packing is a mess, saturated with meth, etc.... Just wondering if there is any tricks to get the old stuff out because the silencer can is welded directly to the header pipe. Also, the center tube seems to be welded in the silencer too.

Just wanting to hear shortcuts if there is any cuz this is going to be a pain in the ass for sure. <_<

I have a set as well and yes it is a pain, especially when the packing is soaked. If you think getting the old out sucks, getting the new back in is about as bad!

Good luck man!

So... Work instructions are: Buy a 12 pack of Budweiser, an assortment of flat screw drivers, needle nose pliers, gloves, de-greaser and have fun battling these silencers for a couple hours?

Man o man, please tell me this AINT my prob as well, I JUST got my first set of silenced OOF's they were used and im sure on meth, and Im thinking i need to repack as well, I have stuff that oozes from the crack between the end cap and silencer every time i warm them up and when I rip on it and pipes get hot, the worst damn smell I have ever smelled, like burning trash or something..... anyone else experience this??

only prob with running silencers with alky. You have to repack them pretty often unless in perfect tune and not having my raw fuel run threw them. Builders will also tell you as soon as they start becoming to saturated with alky you start losing power.
