banshee10 Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 hello , i blew my left piston and on the very surface of the cylinder the plating cheeped off is about a quarter an inch long, do i have to replate ? Quote
QuadBart Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 The answer is YES . If the plating is gone, it needs to stripped and replated. Theres a place in Fon Du Lac Wisconsin called US Chrome, they do a fantastic job of replating. They can fix a cyl even if its damaged. They can weld it, rebore it, replate it, and diamond hone it. I send them ALL my cyl work. Quote
