so i havent had a banshee in like 5 years now , is it worth it to build another one in 2010 still ? i found a frame locally for 100 bucks . are all the other bikes (450s ) so far advanced that a banshee is just useless? whats the deal on these now.

Build another one. Dollar for dollar cheaper to build and make fast. Still a VERY strong after market.

I gotta go with Loco on this one. I was thinking along the same line as you are and picked up a badly beaten 87' figuring I would just take the winter to rebuild it on the cheap. I now have about $2500.00 rapped up in the build, and that doesn't account for my time. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the tear down and rebuild process but I could have purchased a 2000 or 2001 with the same bolt on mods for around $2000.00. Just hated to see the old 87' rooten away.

Yeah, truth is you could have bought a running bike cheaper than piecing one together. If you can't front the money then go for the build. Atleast it will be built the way you want it! Good luck man!
