BigMatt Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 ok so today I put my clutch cover back on and I was not sure whitch way to face the kicker stop... i dont know the real term. but I got it on and now my kicker goes all the way down passed my brake lever, I dont remember it doing that. also there is a retaning ring with a loop coming off where does this face? I hope this link works but the kicker stop Im talking about is #1 and the ring is #3 here is the link I was looking at http://www.partforyamaha.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/2/Yamaha.aspx also I have heard of kick back is that caused by putting it in wrong? locogato11283 Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 the kicker actually hits on the factory foot peg if i remember correctly. im pretty sure it has a flat spot on it where it stops. if its hitting that, its fine. Quote

I cant remember, I dont have my nerfs on yet just wanted to make sure its right before, oil, pegs & nerfs go back on, thanks Quote
bansheesandrider Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Banshees that came with the factory footguards have a flatspot on the footpeg to stop the kickstarter. Early bike that did not have footguards, the kickstarter goes all the way down and the only stop is inside the clutch cover. If you have aftermarket pegs or modified pegs then you probably only have the internal stop. Quote

I hope this link works but the kicker stop Im talking about is #1 and the ring is #3 here is the link I was looking at http://www.partforyamaha.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/2/Yamaha.aspx also I have heard of kick back is that caused by putting it in wrong? the little loop thingy fits into an indention in the engine case behind the starter assembly. rotate the kicker stop around to the same area, then you gotta rotate the spring around to put tension on it and attach the little hook on the spring pin. and yes, it will kick back and leave a nice mark in you clutch cover if you put it in wrong. clear as mud? lol Quote
