Wheelman Chassis Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 hey when it starts doing the bog on launch, pul the chokes up and see if it goes away.. my guess is with the pipes and the changes its alil lean. if that works you can raise the needle and change jets to fix it... Quote
Ieat4strokes Posted February 28, 2010 Author Report Posted February 28, 2010 Thanks guys for all the replys. Didn't get a chance to fool with it much today. Cut rear fenders finally. And changed tranny fluid. Will do a plug chop tomorrow. I'm guessing lean as well on this. So I raise clip 1 notch to fatten? And Ima go with 165s from my 162s and see if that helps. I have some 180s that were in carbs but I know they are way to big. Had bigger pilots so I put them in. Went from 50s to 55s. Quote
sleeper06 Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 That porting is set up for +7 timing,You CAN NOT HOT LAP THAT MOTOR it not meant for that.180 is way fat and it does not sound like a jetting issue. So if you did plug chops lets see them and ill be able to help out on jetting, pilot seems a lil rich.I went up one jet size from ins to oofs. Quote
Ieat4strokes Posted February 28, 2010 Author Report Posted February 28, 2010 I went to 55s because I was only a half turn out from seated on my 50s, now I'm 1 1/2 on the 55s. As far as hot lapping I just made a few 6-10 passes that were maybe a couple mins apart. Why can't u do that? If I have to ride for a min or two and shut it down I may be on the market for some different cyls. My friend has a drag ported shee and runs it all day long, whats the difference? Yes I knew what i wanted, I wanted a full out drag ported 4 mill that i can just hop on and rip and throw the struts on and hit the drags on the weekends....I discussed that with Jeff also when he built the motor. You went from cpi ins to oofs? just wondering because I went from t5's to cpi oof's, bigger change right? What ya mean it "Does NOT sound like a jetting issue?" What you think it is? I dont know, thats why im here.... Seems to run fine till it gets warm. Quote
sleeper06 Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 easy tiger im not attacking you in anyway, that motor gets hot, what I do is heat gun it after each run.Ride it until it starts acting up and heat gun it see what shes running at.I know after one run my bike is hot.I can feel the loss of power due to heat,is it overheated no but there is power loss that can be what your experiancing. What plugs are you running Quote

Man your good with me, u know that. I didn't mean to come off in a defensive manner. What makes this motor get so hot? I'm still using the br8es plugs. I'm about to go take it to my friends so I can get a 1-6th and plug chop for ya. It couldve very well been heat that I was experiencing. I need to call Jeff instead of just having him read the thread maybe he missed something. I was planning on taking this bike to LS in June. So I can't just rip the dunes on it? If not then Ima have to get me another quad man. Quote

I have no experience with a cub, but I have a 4 mil that never shows any sign of over heat, even climbing the steepest tallest dunes over and over. Quote
Ieat4strokes Posted February 28, 2010 Author Report Posted February 28, 2010 It's a stock cylinder full drag ported 4 mill. Quote
