You don't need them with an aftermarket clutch. Yamaha put them in there so when you pull the clutch lever, the clutch plates will seperate better and not drag. Quote
firebanshee Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 Yea x2 throw them all away. Make sure you pre soak your friction plates in whatever kind of oil you run. I use type F atf. Quote

firebanshee Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Koo thanks everyone. ATF type f really. Any performace gains by running tranny fluid? Atf lubricates well and it holds up to heat very well, type F also has grabbing agents built into it so your clutches dont slip, atf also does not rob hp and it does not cost very much and you can get it anywere. If it holds up in a automatic trans and torque converters it can hold up in a banshee. Alot of guys run it. Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Just outta curoisty, dont know a whole lot about this subject since i still have my stock clutch in there, but could you take the rubber cusions out of a stock clutch setup and would there be any downfalls? Would you still have enough clutch adjustment? Quote

papa_smurf49319 Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 shit next time im in there those damn cushions are gone and a magnum billet basket will be on its way also, hell maybe even a fast clutch. But the stockers still mic out plenty good, who knows. Cody Quote
camatv Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 the stock clutch is actually smaller surfae area than any aftermarket clutch.. if you really have ANY mods you should replace the crappy junkky arse stock clutch Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 they cant be too crappy lol, theve been in there since ninety five, they mic'd out on the thick side also. But that was before i built this motor, we will see how it holds up with six heavy dudty springs in there. Cody Quote
